Hallein

Yesterday my friend Adam and I went to the small village of Hallein for the afternoon.
There’s not much in Hallein, unfortunately, except for a gelato stand (called “Gelat-O.K.!”) that makes huge–nay, epic–ice cream creations. Besides that the city is kinda dirty.
What there is to see, though, I took pictures of. These are to be seen to the right.

I Killed Eustace

Today I realized that the horrible heat wave in Salzburg combined with criminal negligence on my part has killed my beloved plant.
I walked into my room to a stench. I searched everywhere, until I realized. In a traumatic fashion I pulled back the curtain of the windowsill to find it, shrivelled, withered and brown. I sat on my bed with the poor devil in my hands, weeping.
Eustace, a name I bestowed upon it from a previously-killed faunal friend, had stuck with me through the greater part of my internship, providing guidance and emotional support. It was the “strong and silent” type.
I loved that plant.

Presents: the Universal Language
On the blog that Randi and I are keeping for our wedding plans, we’ve posted a small blurb about the importance of giving and, furthermore, how much we love everybody. If you’re not a regular reader of that weblog, I encourage you to check this entry out.

München, part zwei
Saturday, fellow intern Adam and I went to Munich for the day.
On the agenda was the Deustches Museum, the Englischgartens and local favorite Hofbrauhaus.
Pictures are to the right; sleepily-composed anecdotes comprise the captions.
*Beware: cliché ahead*
And, I just realized, I’m coming home in two weeks! Boy, time sure does fly when you’re having fun!
